Pre-competitive: 5-7 years of age – Sparklers

  • Will train 1 day at 2 hours per week
  • This is an excellent opportunity to train along side the competitive team and
    build on skills. Working with more experienced cheerleaders will provide
    comfort when stunting and working on skills. Conditioning and flexibility are
    introduced, as well a strong focus on fundamental skills. Leadership skills and
    working as a team is strongly developed. Attendance is crucial, because each
    class is a foundation to the upcoming class.

Pre-competitive: 9-14 – Fire crackers

  • Will train 2 days at 2 hours – total 4 hours per week
  • This is a time when their progress will be monitored closely. Attitude,
    attendance, team spirit, and focus are highly valued. Skill learning will
    increase rapidly as their strength begins to increase. The athlete will train
    along side the competitive team 1 day a week. Working with more advanced
    cheerleaders will provide the athlete with comfort when stunting. The
    competitive girls will also help in providing tips during stunting. From
    working with the competitive team, leadership skills, comfort levels, and team
    work will increase.

Competitive Youth: 11 & under – Newtons

  • Will train 3 days at 2 hours – total 6 hours per week

Competitive Junior: 14 & under – Streamers

  • Will train 2 days at 2 hours and 1 day at 3 hours– total 7 hours per week

Competitive Senior: 18 & under – Cherry Bombs

  • Will train 1 day at 2 hours and 2 days at 3 hours – total 8 hours per week

At the competitive level, tumbling becomes a very important component
to a cheerleading routine. Tumbling will be greatly emphasized, along with
strength, flexibility and power. A routine will be developed and will be
comprised of tumbling, dance, stunts, and jumps. Athletes hold a commitment
to their coaches and teammates which makes attendance mandatory (unless
discussed with coach prior to). The athletes are encouraged to have fun, but
stay serious and safely work their way through stunts. Athletes will be placed
in an appropriate level with the rest of the team.
